Nazik Beishenaly is a researcher at the University of Leuven (KU Leuven), where she works on the role of cooperatives in international development and cooperative entrepreneurial ecosystems. She also supported the ICA as the research advisor on the contribution of cooperatives to the Sustainable Development Goals. Nazik holds a Master degree from the University of Oxford (UK) in Public Policy, and a PhD degree in Economics from the Grenoble Alpes University (France) on the economic role of credit cooperatives. In the past, she served as the president of the Cooperatives’ Union of Kyrgyzstan. She has extensive policy advisory experience with governments and with the UN agencies on social and economic development policies.
